The Resurrection & the Gift

The Greatest Gift of All

On this wonderful Sabbath, I  recall a sermon by Pastor J. Berglund earlier on Paul and the Resurrection from 1 Cor 15 that I’d like to share with you.  The first verse which had power and punch was verse 3 in which Paul states is of first importance: ” that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures”…This first part here tells us that Jesus died for a reason!  He did not die in vain.  the second point was that he was buried- this point shows that he was actually dead. He was raised on the third day according to Scriptures.

He Conquered Death! Death, Satan, Didn’t & Couldn’t Hold Him!

v 56   “Where, O death, is your victory? Where O death, is your sting?”

v 58 paraphrased  …stand firm in your beliefs!  Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know it is not in vain!

I’m always so moved to tears  by the story of the resurrection.  That a Being could love so much, could have so much mercy, so much grace,  it’s actually quite overwhelming.  My favorite song -if I could add it to this blog I would- is “Via Dolorosa”.  The very title takes my breath away.  I want to ask you to listen to it if you can as you reflect on what I have shared.  Think about the following:  Stay focused on the cross & the gift from the Father!  But my brothers and sisters in Christ, I must implore you to never, think of a crucifix with Christ ON IT!  Doing so LEAVES HIM ON THE CROSS!!

HE CONQUERED DEATH!  DEATH, SATAN, DIDN’T & COULDN’T HOLD HIM!   Amen!

I want to help, encourage, and maybe through my many mistakes, help others, men and women.
