But I’ve been Praying the Same Thing Forever!!!!

tree In my lifetime, there have been a couple of prayers that I can recall  which I prayed over the same issue or person daily for either months or even years.  The first prayer was over a difficult relationship which never improved in the 15 years that I was with this man.  Perhaps the answer to my prayer came after 15 years with the end of the relationship and the peace that followed.  Currently, I struggle with another long-term prayer.  Sometimes I cry because it’s been so long, almost a year of the same prayer, and I’ve had no response.  I read that I must praise trials because they help me to gain patience which helps me to be stronger and helps me to better cope and prepare for what’s ahead.

James 5:16 says that I must confess my sins and pray for others.  Prayer is powerful and effective.

BUT DO I HAVE TO PRAY THE SAME PRAYER CONSTANTLY FOR SOOOO LOOONG???

1Thess 5:16-17 says rejoice & pray continuously…not out of repetition but out of the heart.  must accept His will–His will be done, not mine.

We must also be “Tree Strong”.  Trust is a must .  Jer.  17:7-8 & 5-6

We need that deep connection with God.  It’ll take you through the good times, but most definitely through the bad/trauma.

“Keep the engine Running!”  It keeps you healthy to have a connection with Jesus! Be the person who always has the “glass half-full”    These are the happiest people.

Pray incessantly, pray for others, have faith, and trust in Him.  Trust that the Father knows what is best for you.  Although I waited 15 years for the first prayer, and have been waiting a year for this one, and months for  others, God’s time isn’t our time.  He is in control.  Make sure your own roots are deep and grounded in Christ and He will get you through the most difficult of trauma.

May the Lord Bless and Keep you .

I am a Hispanic single woman, born and raised in the military lifestyle. Went on to become a veteran and an Army spouse. Throughout my life I have struggled with relationships, to include the most important, the one with my Father, God. I am currently working as a high school counselor, but am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and studying to take the Addictions Counselor exam for my LCDC. I want to help, encourage, and maybe through my many mistakes, help others, men and women.
